RAS KIROKO-The Bean at Kigamboni, Dar es salaam, Tanzania, East Africa #The Ras Kiroko Experience

Hi Everyone and welcome to my Blog!

For today's blog, I'm gonna feature the #Ras Kiroko Experience!!!
Ras Kiroko-The Bean  is a private beach houses in  Kigamboni.
It takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hrs from Masaki Dar es salaam to Ras Kiroko depends on the timing and traffic for a 36 Kilometer distance.

Well, this is my third time to visit this wonderfully secluded paradise so I want you guys to be part of this journey.

Ras Kiroko has 2 private houses. And both of these houses are self-catering which means you can have all the privacy and do whatever you want to enjoy and savour the moment away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

I have listed 15 categories for us to simplify and make plans ASAP.
Let's take a look:

Price:
These two private houses are both unique and for me, the price is reasonable.
If you happen to have a lot of friends you can share the costs of approximately 45 USD only person.
The more guest, the cheaper you'll share.
In our case, we were 6 and we shared the small house which is 350 / 6= 58 USD.

The Bean House has 3 large bedrooms which can comfortably accommodate 8 people.
It has a fridge, freezer, gas cooker, microwave

And you'll get to enjoy your own private white sandy beach where you can swim, fish, harvest oysters or walk kilometres undisturbed.
How amazing it can be to have amazing scenery plus total privacy!
The bean is fully equipped for family and children.

Our first visit to Ras Kiroko was last January 12,2020.
Let's take a look:

Our Second visit was very special to all of us.
It is the combination of our birthdays together for the months of November and December.

And one of my friend, Joemel traveled from The Netherlands to join us during this celebration.

And Finally

Our Third visit, I have suggested going back to this wonderful place again before Gene & Cat moves to another country.

Please click the below link.

This has been our place since last year and considering that its been awhile that we haven't gone out of the city due to covid19.

I think its time to get fresh air, enjoy a white sandy beach, unwind and feel the sea breeze.
Its a perfect getaway.

For me, this is one of the most recommendable places for your weekend getaway.
It's AFFORDABLE
It's Amazing
It's one of a kind

BORACAY ISLAND, PHILIPPINES ''The Best Island in the world''

WHY SO MANY PEOPLE FLOCKED TO BORACAY?
A SMALL ISLAND IN THE PHILIPPINE ARCHIPELAGO.

Boracay is situated on a small island in the Philippines, province of Aklan.
It is a very well-known travel destination around the world.
It has recorded several visitors annually.
Apart from its white sand beaches, Boracay is also famous for being one of the world's top destinations for relaxation
And the good news is that it's not only for middle and upper-class people.
This is for everyone who wants to enjoy and have fun in one of the best islands in the world.
Hotel accommodation ranges from  16 USD Dollars to 416 US dollars per night
If you’re a solo traveller with a tight budget, you can stay at Island Hostel Boracay or should you choose to stay on luxury with one of a kind accommodation, you can select Shangrila suites.

Getting there: Fly from Manila to Caticlan in Malay; from there, pump boats ferry passengers to White Beach which takes less than an hour.
We have arranged ground transfer from our hotel to lessen the hustle cause negotiation prices with the public is so irritating and of course, time-consuming.

It offers a breathtaking view and  a lot of amazing bars and restaurants that suits your needs.
There's plenty of reason why you should put Boracay island on your bucket list.
And here's why:

Awards and Recognition:
Looking back:
Boracay was awarded as the 2012 Best Island in the World by the international travel magazine Travel + Leisure
As of 2013, it was emerging among the top destinations for tranquillity and nightlife.
In 2014, the resort island was at the top of the "Best Islands in the World" list published by the international magazine Condé Nast Traveler.
In 2016, Boracay headed the magazine's list of "Top 10 destinations to watch".
In April 2018, the Philippine Government decreed a 6-month closure of the island for tourists to undertake major
It re-opened in October 2018, with a set of new rules meant to address a variety of issues.
Origin:
The name Boracay is attributed to different origins. One story says that it is derived from the local word "borac" which means white cotton with characteristics close to the colour and texture of Boracay's white sugary and powdery sand.
The island is approximately seven kilometres long, dog-bone shaped with the narrowest spot being less than one kilometre wide, and has a total land area of 10.32 square kilometres.
Leisure activities:

Here is the list of  Leisure activities available on or near Boracay include horseback riding, scuba divingdiving  helmet, snorkelling, windsurfingkiteboarding, cliff diving, and parasailing.

White Beach is the big tourist draw - and it is quite sensational, those 4km of gorgeous, blindingly white sand.
Majority of foreign visitors are from China and South Korea, accounting for 80% of the total number of foreigners visiting the island.
The rest of the foreign tourists hail from the United States, Taiwan, Russia, Japan, and the United Kingdom.

In 2017, before the closure, it drew two million tourists. Yes, you heard it right.
BORACAY ISLAND has registered an overwhelming 2.1 million tourists for 2017, the highest number so far recorded.
The top 10 groups of tourist arrivals came from China with 375,284; followed by South Korea, 356,644; Taiwan of China, 40,802; the United States, 22,648; and Malaysia, 20,585.
Following were the United Kingdom with 17,416; Saudi Arabia, 15,944; Australia, 15,365; Russia, 14,074; and Singapore, 9,897.
The rest of the visitors were domestic tourists and overseas Filipino workers.
The island then generated about $1 billion in tourism receipts, according to the provincial tourism office data.
In 2018, the island welcomed 941,068 tourists.
The 10.3-square-kilometer islet’s white sand beach spans four kilometres, paralleled by a strip of at least 100 hotels.

Best Time to Travel:
April and May recorded the highest number of tourist arrivals due to its summer season.

Top  luxury hotels in Boracay:
  • ·        The Lind Boracay
  • ·        Discovery Shores Boracay
  • ·        Henann Palm Beach Resort
  • ·        Movenpick Resort & Spa
  • ·        Ambassador in Paradise
  • ·        Shangrila

We booked in a 4-star hotel at Fairways & Bluewater Newcoast Boracay.
The accommodation was great, they have a spectacular garden view, and a greenery gold course within the vicinity and of course a private beach for you.
Indeed, the total experience on this island was very memorable and fascinating.
In the evening you can get to hear local music and watch local dances and of course a delectable meal.
I am so happy that I got to try my first experience on stand up paddle which is very exciting, exhausting but of course fulfilling. I have never tried it and I really enjoyed paddling.
To make your holiday more meaningful, you've got to try this very tickling but surely so much fun thing to do. Visit a nearby fish spa and get rid of your feet. hahahaha

Enjoy your powdery white sand experience and don't hesitate to tell your stories because this island deserves to be known and experienced by everyone.

GREAT WIN-WIN PROPOSITION ! COVID-19

I must say I had a good sleep last night despite the terrible news around the globe.
Then, As I woke up I realized something big!
Something futuristic.
And it is a great proposition not just for the country but for the entire planet as a whole.

What if, the Country's leader will come to an accord stipulating that '' Each country will have a lockdown for one month every year''?

Sounds easy-peasy, right?
But do you think it is very easy to implement?

I do believe that this is really a great proposition.
To date, we seem to focus only on a shorter perspective.

This is futuristic thinking!
And it is not only us who will benefit the idea but our future generations as well.
As fewer people aware of our planet, industrialization has impacted our inhabited nature.
The industrialization had damaged our nature without even knowing it.
So many catastrophic events, the natural disastrous phenomenon has happened and we fail to understand it is all because of our excessive globalization.

If this accord to be put in place, I do believe that certain things back in the old days will soon re-appear.

An almost forgotten mountain across the island in the Metropolitan area in the Philippines showed a very rare photo.
A few years ago, there is no image seen from that distance.
As the lockdown still continues. skyline is clearing and showing positive impacts.
Well aside from the healing ozone layer, we got some other good news.
And pretty sure, you do have something to share as well in your own country.

Latest Today !

This picture depicts a restaurant situated in Masaki, Dar Es Salaam.

A month ago this place was packed with customers, I used to dine here and order my favourite Loaded Pitta Sandwich.

Look at how it turned out to be now, very solemn and peaceful.
Indeed, the citizens of the country are taking precautions of this extremely dangerous invisible enemy.

I just had cycled to have fresh air and passed by at Bean There Cafe.

We all wish that very soon this global threat will someday be resolved and be back to its normal path.

God Bless Tanzania!
God Bless World!
